Welcome back Mule Fans! Let us introduce ourselves: Joey Feste and Jeff Bailey. As of noon today, we are your new blog hosts for the 2010 Mules football season. Not that we volunteered for the job, we just forgot to step backward when volunteers were asked to step forward. Unfortunately we have the very difficult task of trying to follow "The Bobbys" - Cohen and Rosenthal. They did an amazing job the past two years, but we will give it our best shot. Our approach will be simple: write what we think is informative and entertaining and then apologize for our gaffes later. There will be a suggestion/complaint box, but good luck finding it! We apologize in advance for this lame post, but as we mentioned, we literally got this blog gig this afternoon.
Well, let's get down to business. It's football time again! The boys have been really working hard all summer at Conditioning Camp, 7 on 7, and now during two-a-days - and everyone is excited about the upcoming season in our new District 27-4A. We will dig into more detail about our schedule and upcoming opponents in future posts. Their first test is this Friday as the Mules scrimmage MacArthur at Heroes Stadium. It should be a hot one so be sure to bathe in sunscreen and bring your biggest hat and umbrella.
Scrimmage Times:
9:00 am - Freshmen and Junior Varsity
11:00 am - Varsity
Reminder: The Fall Kickoff BBQ is next Wednesday, August 25th, from 4:00 - 7:00 at our own Harry B. Orem Stadium. Come out and support the players, meet the coaches, and talk shop with other Mule sports families while feeding your face. The football and volleyball teams will practice (not together) from 4:00 to 5:00, which will be followed by a fabulous BBQ dinner and AHHS Band performance from 5:00 to 7:00. There is still time to contribute as a sponsor for this event. Proceeds go to support our athletic sports at Alamo Heights High School. Please send your checks payable to "The Mule Team" to Bryan Stuckey at P.O. Box 6967, S.A. TX 78209. Additional information is provided on the flyer below.
Well, that's all we've got for now. And remember "if you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter!" (Joey thought it would be funny to put that)
Joey Feste and Jeff Bailey
Thanks to Joey and Jeff for taking on this gigantic job. Your work will be greatly appreciated by all.

Guys,
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the nice game summaries. I live in Los Angeles and the resource limited Express News is inadequate! Keep up the great work!
