Looking Ahead:
AH Mules vs. Clemens Buffaloes
Friday, November 5th - 7:30 PM
Alamo Heights Harry B. Orem Stadium
It's football weather! Fall has arrived and our Mules take on the Clemens Buffaloes this Friday night at home. This will be the last game of the regular season. Clemens makes a visit to Alamo Heights with a 2-3 record in district play and a 4-5 overall record this season. This has been somewhat of a disappointing season for Clemens who traditionally makes the playoffs and has had post-season play four of the past five years. Last year the Buffaloes made it to the second round of the Division II playoffs. This will be the first losing season for the Buffaloes since 1993. Some of Clemens depth over the past few years has been lost to nearby Steele, which opened in 2005.
This year has been a rebulding year for head coach Greg Ferrara as the Buffaloes return only eight starters from last season - five on offense and three on defense. A key player to watch for is defensive back Joseph Lizcano, a third-team all-state selection who had 87 tackles and 7 interceptions last year along with three punt returns for TDs. Plus he plays quarterback as well! Also keep an eye on Horace Hayes, a 6'5', 260 lb. offensive tackle, who was all-district last year and a three year starter.
Clear your calendars for Friday evening and let's make this Friday's last home game of the regular season a great one. See you there! GO MULES!
