This last Sunday December 31, 2006, the San Antonio Express News highlighted the area’s finest in several sports including football:

Final Rankings (Sub5A): Alamo Heights #1 Record of 14-1, State Champion.
Passing Offense: #3 with 197.3 yards average per game.
Scoring Offense: #3 with 37.1 points average per game.
Rushing Defense: #1 with 103.9 yards average per game.
Passing Yards: #3, Giovanni Vizza with 2,283 yards.
Receiving Yards: #1 Sam Dibrell with 1,151 yards.
Receptions: #1 Sam Dibrell with 65.
Players of the Week: Giovanni Vizza at week 6 and Sam Dibrell at week 7.
Coach of the Year: Alamo Heights - Don Byrd.
